Installing/Upgrading 2/6

When you install an application or upgrade, make sure you have enough room on your Hard Drive. The same applies for Windows.
The space you'll need depends on the options you choose.
The following are estimates if we consider the default installation.
We'll not enter into details now, but just for completeness.
You can install Windows on a FAT16 or FAT32 drive.
What's FAT ??!! We'll return to that later on in the Tutorial.
For the mean time, just know that FAT32 is faster than FAT16.
Normally you're on FAT16 so you need 225MB of free space for
a full default install, however if you include options you might
need up to 355MB.
if you just bought a new Hard Drive, don't worry about space.

Note: Full install of Windows 98 on a FAT32 drive requires
175 MB, so FAT32 is less space consuming...
